President John Dramani Mahama has relieved Prof. Yayra Dzakadzie of his duties as Director-General of the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA).
The reasons behind this decision are yet to be officially disclosed.
His dismissal comes barely 11 months after his appointment as Director-General on June 24, 2024.
Prof. Dzakadzie was appointed by former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, pursuant to Section 107(1) and (2)(a) of the Education Regulatory Bodies Act, 2020 (Act 1023).
With a wealth of Education, Prof. Dzakadzie held several influential positions, including Deputy Director-General of the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) and Director for Tertiary Education at the Ministry of Education.
Prof. Yayra Dzakadzie, a respected expert in educational outcome assessment, testing, measurement, evaluation, research, and statistics, had brought his extensive academic background and teaching experience to NaCCA.
