Nanakrom residents commend Chief Inspector Samuel Darko for putting up ultra-modern Police Station

Residents of Nanakrom near Ashaley Botwe old town in the Adenta Municipality in the Greater Accra Region have commended Chief Inspector Samuel Darko for putting up an ultra-modern police station and apartment to house personnel.

According to the residents, Chief Inspector Darko allocated a portion of his monthly salary to commence the construction of the edifice until some individuals extended their benevolence to make his dream of finding dignified accommodation and offices for personnel under his watch a reality.

Apart from the ultra-modern police station, Chief Inspector Darko has also put up another two police posts at Lakeside and Container, all suburbs under his territory in order to maintain peace and order.

Speaking to Original TV in an exclusive interview, the contractor in charge of the project, Mr. Emmanuel Amuzu said Chief Inspector Darko and other donors had spent about four hundred and fifty thousand Ghana Cedis (GHS450, 000) on the project so far.

“For now, we have completed four rooms serving as accommodation for some officers and a charge office,” Mr. Amuzu said.

He added “Work on a seven-room story building is also ongoing at the same premises. So in all about GHS450, 000 has been spent so far.”

A resident, Mr. James Mensah, who was said to have donated some bags of cement towards the building construction expressed his profound gratitude to Chief Inspector Darko for his high level of commitment to duty.

Mr. Mensah stated that the residents are delighted with the wonderful work being carried on by the Police Chief and that he would soon write officially to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) informing him about the extraordinary performance and commitment shown by Chief Inspector Darko.

Madam Adzara Ibrahim, who also lives in the community, intimated that until Chief Inspector Darko was transferred to the area, there were rampant crimes which made it almost impossible for people to go about their business during night time but through the hard work of the officers, the crime rate in the area has drastically reduced.
