National Cathedral: I sincerely hope Ablakwa is wrong – Adom Otchere

National Cathedral: I sincerely hope Ablakwa is wrong – Adom Otchere

The host of Good Evening Ghana on Metro TV says he hopes the barrage of allegations leveled against the founder of Power Chapel Worldwide, Rev. Victor Kusi-Boateng is inaccurate and does not implicate him.

Paul Adom Otchere said even though he is not God he can vouch for the embattled preacher because he is a great man and “people in Kumasi can testify to his abilities, closeness to God, and his spiritual sanctity.”

The seasoned journalist who identifies himself as a fundamentalist supporter of the National Cathedral said he’s biased towards the clergyman and “sincerely hope” the accuser, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, is “wrong”.

“For a man of God of this stature to be facing an allegation of fraud — fraudulent representation, and purported forgery to deceive the general public and to benefit from public funds,” Mr. Adom Otchere said during his Good Evening Ghana show on Metro TV on Tuesday, January 17, 2023.

The Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa is requesting the founder of the Power Chapel Worldwide to resign from the National Cathedral Board of Trustees.

Rev. Victor Kusi Boateng, the Secretary of the Board, is accused by Ablakwa of creating several identities while the state was unaware of them, a crime in his eyes.

NDC lawmaker said in a Facebook post on Monday that Mr. Kusi Boateng used the moniker “Kwabena Adu Gyamfi” to create a business (JNS Talent Centre Limited), which was paid by the National Cathedral Secretariat.

He believes that this creates a conflict of interest, which is why the preacher needs to step down to allow for inquiries into what he believes to be a fraudulent act.

“For the avoidance of doubt, there is no distinct Kwabena Adu Gyamfi. Kwabena Adu Gyamfi is a criminal creation of Rev. Victor Kusi-Boateng. The two are therefore one and the same.

“Rev. Victor Kusi-Boateng AKA Kwabena Adu Gyamfi thought he had outwitted every Ghanaian, particularly our authorities whom he dribbled for many years; but the day of reckoning is finally here.

“From unassailable and irreproachable documents in my possession, Rev. Victor Kusi-Boateng AKA Kwabena Adu Gyamfi uses multiple passports and multiple identification cards with different names and different dates of birth as his special modus operandi,” Mr Ablakwa alleged.
