National Security Coordinator Urges Recruitment of Eastern Region Youth into Intelligence Services

The newly commissioned Eastern Regional Office of the National Signals Bureau (NSB) is not only boosting security infrastructure, it’s opening doors for youth employment and local talent development.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, National Security Coordinator COP Osman Abdul Razak emphasized the importance of recruiting young, tech-savvy individuals from the region to power the high-tech facility.

“Koforidua and the Eastern Region boast of bright graduates from several tertiary institutions,” COP Osman said.

“The human resources we need are right here.”
The Coordinator urged NSB leadership to make it a priority to recruit locally, emphasizing that this initiative goes beyond job creation.

“This is about building local capacity and fostering a sense of ownership,” he stated.

With Ghana’s security apparatus becoming increasingly reliant on cyber intelligence, big data, and digital infrastructure, the need for a skilled, tech-literate workforce is greater than ever.

The Koforidua office, with its advanced systems, will require analysts, engineers, and intelligence officers capable of navigating complex digital environments.
Security experts see this as an opportunity for the government to align national security goals with youth empowerment.

“Combining local knowledge with world-class training will create a formidable security asset,” COP Osman added. “And it will ensure that this facility remains not only operational but community-rooted.”
