The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has expressed grave concern over reports of a purported collation or recollation exercise of some parliamentary election results at the Tesano Police Training School.
In a statement issued on Friday, December 13, the NDC’s General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, urged the Electoral Commission to immediately halt the exercise, describing it as “deeply troubling” and conducted in “bad faith”.
The NDC believes the exercise has the potential to erode public trust in the Electoral Commission, fuel tensions, and destabilize the peace and cohesion of the nation.
“The manner the exercise is being carried out is a recipe for electoral chaos and malpractice,” the statement read.
The party is demanding an emergency Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting to discuss the matter comprehensively and ensure that any steps taken by the Commission are guided by the principles of legality, fairness, and consensus.
“An inclusive dialogue will not only provide clarity but also reaffirm the Commission’s commitment to upholding its constitutional mandate,” the statement added.
