NDC Flagbearership Race: Dr. Duffour’s Bid Mere Fantasy – Kwakye Ofosu Ridicules

Former Deputy Minister for Information in the erstwhile John Mahama administration, Felix Ofosu-Kwakye has made mockery of the bid by NDC stalwart, Dr. Kwabena Duffour to lead the party as flagbearer in the upcoming 2024 General Elections.

According to the Aide to former President Mahama, although he has huge respect for the personality of Dr. Duffour, his flagbearership ambition is a wild fantasy.

Ofosu-Kwakye, who is at the camp of former President John Dramani Mahama, believes that Dr. Duffour does not have what it takes to be a significant opposition to the former president adding that the former finance minister cannot be a threat in the race.

To him, John Mahama stands tall among the rest and the best person to lead the NDC and the country.

Felix Ofosu-Kwakye made these claims when he was reacting to the picking of nomination forms by the camp of Dr. Duffour on Thursday, February 22, 2023 to contest in the NDC flagbearership race.

Speaking on Accra-based Joy FM on Thursday, the former deputy minister declared that “the truth is that Dr Duffuor flagbearership is such a wild fantasy.”.

“Not that he is not quality material, he is by every stretch of the imagination, but there is a much better candidate in the shape of former President Mahama who can guarantee the NDC victory in 2024. President Mahama as far as the NDC is concerned, is the best candidate we can present for that election for many reasons,” added.

So far as at the morning of Friday, February 23rd, 2023, four people have picked nomination forms to contest in the upcoming NDC flagbearer elections.

Former President John Dramani Mahama was the first to pick his forms. Former Mayor of Kumasi, Kojo Bonsu has picked his forms followed by Dr. Kwabena Duffour and one other.
