NDC loyalist allegedly shot by Hawa Koomson’s bodyguard

The Awutu Senya East Constituency branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is demanding justice for a member of the party who was shot at Awutu Breku.

The party wants the shooter, allegedly a bodyguard of Awutu Senya East MP, Mavis Hawa Koomson, to face the music.

The victim, Ato Odoom, who was performing with a brass band was allegedly shot during the swearing-in of some traditional leaders at Awutu Breku on Tuesday evening and currently receiving critical treatment at the Trauma and Specialist Hospital in Winneba.

The Awutu Senya East NDC parliamentary candidate Philis Naa Koryoo Okunnor, who spoke to journalists said the victim is a member of the Kasoa branch of the NDC thereby raising concerns among the fraternity.

She also alleged that the shooter who happens to be the boundary chief of Awutu Ofaakor popularly known as Twa Sa is one of the bodyguard Mavis Hawa Koomson.

Although the culprit has been arrested and currently in police custody assisting in investigations, the party has called for impartiality on the part of police and calling for justice to be served in favor of the victim.

The Awutu Senya East NDC communications officer, Stephen Delali, told Metro News that the party will be following closely the matter to the latter.
