NDC National Accountant calls for adequate funding for BECE examination

The National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) National Accountant and parliamentary candidate for the Sagnarigu constituency, Attah Issah, has urged the government to ensure adequate funding for the upcoming Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

Speaking after visiting extra class centers he organized for candidates, Attah Issah emphasized the importance of education for the country’s future.

He expressed concern over the government’s delay in providing funding for the examination, scheduled for Monday, July 8.

The Northern Region has historically performed poorly in the BECE, prompting stakeholders, including MPs, district chief executives, and traditional authorities, to intervene with extra classes to improve performance.

Attah Issah’s initiative has equipped candidates with exam materials, and he stressed the need for adequate funding to support the students.

Metro News spoke to some candidates, who expressed gratitude for the support systems in place to ensure their success in the examination.

“The future of this country lies in the kind of education we give our children today,” Attah Issah said, urging the government to prioritize funding for the BECE examination.”
