The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has expressed gratitude to all supporters and party members who tirelessly worked towards the party’s success.
In what seemed like a declaration made by the first president of Ghana late Dr Kwame Nkrumah on the eve of Ghana’s Independence Day, the NDC national Chairman remarked, “At long last, the battle has ended, and now it is time to work to rescue the country”.
Mr. Asiedu Nketia, who was addressing party supporters at a victory parade at the Cantonment office of the President-elect John Mahama on Monday, December 9, 2024, urged moderation in celebrations while reminding Ghanaians of the mandate bestowed upon the NDC and the incoming John Dramani Mahama government from January 7, 2025.
“We cannot afford to disappoint the people who gave us the mandate. We have to work because the responsibility on our shoulder is huge”
“In the coming week, let us try to cut short our celebration while we plan how to rescue Ghana from the deep holes of economic quagmire”
