Some supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate and independent parliamentary candidate of the Kwahu Afram Plains North Constituency exchange blows during a peace campaign organized by the local council of churches and World Vision.
The local council of churches, in collaboration with World Vision Ghana Kwahu Afram Plains North, organized a peace campaign for parliamentary candidates in Donkorkrom. However, the event was marred by supporters of the NDC parliamentary candidate, Dr. Betty Krosby Mensah, and an independent parliamentary candidate, Lawyer Kpeli Worlase.
Addressing the media, Chairman of the Donkorkrom Local Council of Churches, Prophet. Dr. Caleb Daribi condemned the act and called for more security in Afram Plains North to calm down tensions ahead of the December 7 polls.
The three parliamentary candidates, Dr. Betty Krosbi Mensah of the NDC, Lawyer Kpeli Worlase, an independent candidate, and Asiamah K. Anim of the NPP, have jointly condemned the disturbances and appealed for calm.
They urged their supporters and the electorate to exercise patience and vote peacefully in the upcoming December 7 elections.
