NDC prioritizing ‘whitewashing image’ over people’s plight – Tabitha Ayillah

A communications team member of the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Tabitha Ayillah, has accused the National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration of being more interested in “whitewashing” its image than addressing the pressing needs of Ghanaians.

“But what did they decide to do immediately they came into power? They decided to immediately start baptizing themselves, I call it the political baptism,” she said.

She continued, “The NDC came to office very dark, but now they are interested in whitewashing themselves to look whitish. Why do you want to waste your precious time in whitewashing yourselves when you can do something different?”

Speaking on Good Morning Ghana on Metro TV, Tabitha Ayillah, countered the NDC’s claims of a new era of democracy, advising them to focus on pressing issues affecting Ghanaians.

Tabitha Ayillah implored the Mahama-led administration to prioritize improving the standard of living in Ghana.

“There are more pressing issues that I think by now we should be discussing which the government should be prioritizing,” she said.

The NPP communicator underlined the dire situation faced by senior high school students, citing the Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS) president’s announcement that their food accounts were in the red.

“Students not having enough to eat… Is that not something we should be focusing our energies on?” she questioned.

Tabitha Ayillah also pointed out the frequent adjustments to fuel prices, which have increased by about 1.50p since the NDC took office.

“Nobody seems to care about that, nobody seems to be talking about that, and the livelihoods of people are still not getting better,” she lamented.
