The former Mayor of Kumasi, Samuel Pyne, has issued a warning to members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), claiming that under the next New Patriotic Party (NPP) government, some NDC officials will face such severe legal battles that they would “need Jesus Christ as their bail condition.”
Speaking on Asempa FM, Mr. Pyne said the NPP would enforce strict accountability measures to address what he described as “corruption and abuse of power” under the NDC’s watch.
“The way some people have conducted themselves in this country, when the NPP returns to power, they’ll need Jesus Christ Himself as their bail condition,” Sam Pyne remarked, drawing laughter and reactions from listeners.
The former Mayor argued that NDC leaders have not been transparent in their governance record and accused them of using propaganda to distract Ghanaians from their failures.
According to him, the next NPP administration will ensure that all persons implicated in corruption, illegal enrichment, or abuse of public office are prosecuted without fear or favour.
“We’ll not engage in witch-hunting, but we’ll let the law take its course. No one will be above the law — not even those hiding behind political parties,” he said.
