The National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP) has instructed all staff to stay away from work starting Monday, February 24, 2025, due to unresolved employment and salary issues.
According to a memo issued by the CEO on February 21, 2025, “the complexity and legal implications of these issues prevent us from using operational funds to pay monthly staff allowances”.
The memo further states that management has been instructed to adhere strictly to due process in regularizing staff employment matters to prevent further legal complications.
The suspension comes at a time for Ghana’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, which has seen major growth over the past decade, driven by a young, tech-savvy population and increasing access to digital tools.
Staff who are in possession of any NEIP property are required to return them to the HR Officer by the close of work on Tuesday, February 25, 2025. Failure to do so will be considered “deliberate stealing of such item(s)”
The memo assures staff that “once the matters are adequately addressed, management may call upon specific staff whose services will be required to resume work”.
