New NDC Leadership Wanted To Oust Me Out Of Parliament – Muntaka Breaks Silence On Minority Reshuffle

After emerging victorious in the just-ended NDC Parliamentary Primaries, incumbent Member of Parliament for Asawase, Muntaka Mohammed Mubarak has broken his silence on the recent minority reshuffle undertaken by the new leadership of the opposition of National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The new leadership of the NDC recently embarked on a reshuffle in the leadership of the Minority in Parliament.

Former leaders such as Haruna Iddrisu, Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak, Cletus Avedzi among others were replaced with Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, Kwame Agboza, Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah among others.

Justifying the changes, the party explained that the move was part of their strategy ahead of the 2024 General Elections.

After emerging victorious in a tightly contested primary at Asawase last Saturday, the former Minority Chief Whip disclosed that the leadership of the NDC had a grand agenda to oust him from parliament.

He revealed that some individuals within the party’s leadership have been plotting to get him out of Parliament for some time now adding that the recent change in the Minority Leadership in Parliament was part of the grand scheme.

“I can tell you, it was part of the strategy to get me out. No political person won’t say that wasn’t part of the strategy to get me out. Avedzi wasn’t contesting again, Haruna didn’t have any contenders and I was the only one who had a contender, so to have done that at that time was part of the strategy to get me out,” the Member of Parliament for Asawase in the Ashanti Region narrated.

He added that “but like I keep saying, God is not their village Chief, God doesn’t hate people because you hate them.”

Muntaka faced a stiff contest from Masawudu Mubarick for the Asawase constituency parliamentary race. He, however, emerged victorious with 1,063 of the total valid votes cast while his main contender, Masawudu Mubarick trailed with 735 votes.
