The Ghana High Commission in South Africa has announced that the next batch of Ghanaian nationals in the country will be evacuated on Sunday, 7 June 2026.
In a statement, the High Commission said all individuals scheduled to travel must report to its office on the evening of Saturday, 6th June, for pre departure arrangements, verification and a briefing ahead of the journey.
The Commission also urged anyone whose name appears on the approved evacuation list but no longer intends to return to Ghana to notify officials before 12noon on Thursday, 4th June.
It said early notification would allow other eligible applicants to be accommodated on the flight.
The High Commission reminded travellers that each passenger is entitled to two pieces of checked luggage weighing up to 23 kilograms each. It warned that any luggage exceeding the prescribed weight limit would not be accepted for travel.
Parents and guardians travelling with children have been advised to carry all required travel documents, including consent letters where necessary. They are also expected to present road to health cards or children’s weighing cards.
The Commission further clarified that travellers who have been issued Emergency Travel Certificates will receive their documents at the airport on the day of departure.
The evacuation forms part of ongoing efforts by Ghanaian authorities to assist citizens seeking to return home from South Africa.
