Ngleshie Amanfro Traditional Council warns flouters of noisemaking ban

The Ngleshie Amanfro Traditional Council in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra Region has cautioned individuals and religious organizations flouting the ban on noisemaking, which is in force ahead of the Homowo festival.

The council imposed a penalty of 10 cows, 10 sheep, 10 boxes of whisky, and GHC 10,000 on a church that violated the ban earlier.

However, some churches continue to defy the ban, leading to tension between them and the task force enforcing the ban.

On Sunday, a near-chaotic scene erupted at the premises of the Salvation Miracle Outreach Church at Brigade, a suburb of Ngleshie Amanfro, when church members assaulted task force members.

Police intervention averted a volatile situation.

The Ngleshie Amanfro Divisional Chief, Nii Kwashie Gborlor IV, expressed the council’s displeasure at the disregard for authority and warned that flouters of the ban would face severe consequences.
