The National Identification Authority (NIA) has announced that registration at its head office will be discontinued on May 5, 2025.
The NIA in a statement available to Metro TV urged the public to visit any of its District Offices or Premium Centers to access services such as first issuance, replacement, and updates.
According to the NIA, the move is part of efforts to improve its services.
“Please bear with us as we strive to improve our services,” the statement read.
The Authority also announced plans to reintroduce its online application portal in the coming days, encouraging the public to utilize the platform to avoid long queues at registration centers.
“In the coming days, we will reintroduce the online application portal and encourage the public to use it to avoid long queues at the various centres,” the NIA stated.
Additionally, the NIA revealed that new premium centers will be opened soon, and the Authority will collaborate with the private sector to provide round-the-clock government services.
“New premium centers will open in the coming days, and we will collaborate with the private sector to provide government 24/7 services,” the statement added.
