As a GPL fan of many years, I am deeply concerned about the recent incidents of hooliganism, although not new to association football.
Football is passion, It is rivalry, It is emotion, but it must never be violence in any shape or form especially in 2026.
We can support Kotoko, Hearts, Aduana, Karela or any other club passionately without attacking opponents, players, officials or destroying property or killing.
We have already seen the tragic consequences of football-related violence. How many more warnings do we need?
Clubs, the GFA, security agencies and supporters must all take responsibility.
Your club is not your enemy. Your opponent is not your enemy. At the end of 90 minutes, it is still football.
Let’s bring back passion without violence, rivalry without hatred, and football without fear.
