Nine aspirants have picked up nomination forms to contest various positions in the upcoming National Officers Elections of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The figures were announced by the National Officers Elections Committee at the close of nominations on Monday day, August 17, 2026.
According to the Committee, two aspirants picked forms for the position of National Chairman, while one aspirant each picked forms for National Vice Chairman, General Secretary, National Treasurer, National Organizer, National Women Organizer, National Nasara Coordinator and National Communications Director.
The opening of nominations was formally conducted by the Chairman of the National Officers Elections Committee, Frederick Opare Ansah.
In a statement, he said, “At the close of nominations for Day One, a total of nine (9) aspirants had picked up nomination forms to contest the various advertised positions.”
Some of the aspirants personally appeared at the party’s headquarters to collect their forms, while others were represented by persons authorised to act on their behalf.
The nominations process will continue on Wednesday and run through Saturday, August 22, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. each day at the NPP National Headquarters.
Aspirants seeking to contest the elections have also been reminded to submit the prescribed fees for their respective positions during the nomination period.
The fees may be paid either in cash or by cash cheque.
Mr Opare Ansah said the Elections Committee was committed to ensuring that the process meets the required standards.
“The National Officers Elections Committee remains committed to conducting the process in a manner that is fair, transparent, orderly and credible, and in accordance with the rules and regulations governing the elections,” he stated.
He further called for cooperation from all aspirants, their representatives, party members and other stakeholders as the process continues.
