Bibiani GoldStars continued their strong start to the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season with a hard-fought 1–0 win over Swedru All Blacks at the Swedru Sports Stadium on Saturday.
Michael Nkoah converted a strike into a goal just two minutes after the restart made the difference, as the defending champions edged past their spirited hosts in a tense and competitive Matchday 4 encounter.
The home side, Swedru All Blacks, began the game with confidence and intensity, driven on by their passionate supporters. They created a number of promising opportunities but failed to convert, as GoldStars’ backline, marshalled by the experienced Vincent Atingah, stood firm under pressure.
GoldStars, patient and composed in their approach, made their breakthrough shortly after the interval. Nkoah timed his run to perfection, connected with a delightful through ball, and finished calmly beyond the advancing goalkeeper to give his side the lead.
The hosts pressed hard for an equaliser, coming close in stoppage time when substitute Hakim Mohammed’s fierce strike rattled the crossbar. GoldStars could have extended their advantage earlier, but Samuel Atta Kumi’s effort also struck the upright.
In the end, the champions held their nerve to claim another valuable away victory their second straight win of the campaign, preserving their perfect start to the new season.
GoldStars will face Asante Kotoko in an outstanding fixture on October 8, while Swedru All Blacks will aim to bounce back in their next game.
