No One Can Win Elections Alone – Unity is Key for NPP’s 2028 Victory -Sylvester Tetteh

Former Member of Parliament for Bortianor‐Ngleshie Amanfro, Sylvester Tetteh, has emphasized that no single individual can secure an electoral victory for a political party.

According to Tetteh, the notion that one person can win an election for a party, particularly in the context of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) 2026 Presidential Primaries, is a flawed perspective.

Speaking in an interview with Moro Awudu on Good Morning Ghana on Metro TV, Tetteh explained that while candidates might have individual aspirations to lead the NPP into the 2028 General Elections, unity among party members is essential for a secure win. “Going into the NPP primaries with the belief that one individual can solely win the 2028 elections is wrong,” Tetteh stated. “Victory in a general election requires the collective effort of everyone in the party, not just one person.”

Tetteh further highlighted that the internal wrangling and debates within the NPP, which have intensified ahead of the 2026 primaries, are not unusual. The party, he said, has undergone similar challenges in the past and has always emerged stronger through collaboration and cohesion.

He emphasized the importance of building bridges and rallying support from all factions within the party to ensure the NPP’s success in the upcoming national elections. “The NPP must remain united if it intends to secure victory in 2028,” Tetteh concluded.

This message of party unity comes at a critical time as the NPP prepares for its presidential primaries, where various candidates are jostling for the party’s nomination for the 2026 election.
