Nora Hauptle unveiled as Copper Queens head coach

Nora Hauptle has been unveiled as the head coach of the Copper Queens by the Zambian Football Association after leaving her position as head coach of Ghana’s Black Queens.

At a ceremony on Friday, January 24, 2025, at the Taj Pamodzi Hotel in Lusaka, she signed a three-year deal, which marks a new chapter for her as she aims to lead the Copper Queens on a success campaign at the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) scheduled for July in Morocco.

In her submission at the ceremony, she mentioned factors that could help the team win.

“we need to create a playing idea, work on our principles, work on our values to yield good results in all competitions.”

Furthermore, she told the press the key things she wants to see in a player.

“for me, when i watch a player, i want to see what is really special and you need to bring it repeatedly on the pitch that means a lot of playing minutes and then, there is another human skill which is the way to develop.”

In Nora Hauptle’s absence, Swedish football manager Kim Lars Bjorkegren takes up the role as head coach of the Black Queens. Bjorkegren brings a wealth of experience, boasting an impressive 18-year coaching career and a UEFA License A qualification and will be assisted by Coaches Charles Sampson and Anita Wiredu.
