The New Patriotic Party has the most organized and disciplined polling station executives in Ghana, a senior member of the party’s communications team has said, describing the structure as a major advantage ahead of Saturday’s presidential primaries.
Kwadwo Nsafoa Poku made the remarks as excitement builds toward the January 31 contest, pointing to what he called the party’s deep and well trained grassroots network.
Speaking on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana programme with Moro Awudu, he said the NPP’s strength lies in the people who work quietly at the base of the party.
“From Ashanti to Greater Accra, our polling station executives are unmatched, they are disciplined, trained, and loyal,” he said.
Poku explained that years of sustained investment at the grassroots level have produced a reliable system that functions effectively during elections.
He described polling station executives as the backbone of the party, made up of community based individuals who understand local dynamics and carry the trust of voters.
According to him, these executives play critical roles that go beyond election day. They mobilize voters, help resolve disputes at the local level, and safeguard the integrity of the ballot, drawing on experience gained from participating in several electoral cycles.
As the party prepares to choose its flagbearer, Poku said this level of organization gives the NPP confidence going into the primaries and the broader electoral contests ahead.
