The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has officially invited all five vetted presidential aspirants to take part in a balloting exercise to determine their positions on the ballot paper ahead of the party’s January 31, 2026 presidential primary.
In a letter dated October 7, 2025, and signed by William Yamoah, Secretary to the NPP Presidential Elections Committee, the party extended the invitation to the aspirants following the successful completion of the vetting process.
“I bring you warm greetings from the Presidential Elections Committee and congratulate you on a successful vetting outcome,” the letter stated.
According to the correspondence, the balloting exercise is scheduled for Friday, October 10, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the NPP Headquarters in Asylum Down, Accra.
“The Chairman of the Committee has directed me to extend an invitation for your participation in a balloting process to determine your positions on the ballot paper for the upcoming January 31st Presidential primary,” the letter read.
The memo, copied to the General Secretary, Acting National Chairman, and Chairman of the Presidential Elections Committee, was also distributed to the five approved aspirants – Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, Dr. Bryan Acheampong, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, and Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong.
“We kindly request your confirmation of receipt of this invitation. Should you have any questions or require further information, please do not hesitate to contact the undersigned,” he noted.
The January 31, 2026 presidential primary will determine who leads the ruling NPP into the December 2028 general elections.
