The Chief of Staff at the Office of the Vice President Fred Oware, has charged the Mfantseman constituency of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to work hard and retain the seat for the parliamentary seat.
Addressing supporters after presenting some motorbikes to the executives, he said the NPP needs to be retained to continue its good works.
He presented 85 Royal Motorcycles and other election materials and promised to resource the party more ahead of the december 7 polls.
The Mfantseman constituency of the NPP says transportation is a key feature in the election campaign period, outlining the role the motorcycles will play in the door-to-door campaign it has embarked on.
The incumbent Member of Parliament for Mfantseman, Ophelia Mansa Hayford, is an NPP member and the need to retain her is key, according to the executives.
The Mfantseman Constituency Chairman of the NPP, Nathaniel Owusu, who received the motorcycles on behalf of the Member of Parliament, Ophelia Mansah Hayford, expressed his gratitude to Fred Oware for the gesture.
“The motorcycles will help a lot in the election campaign, this is not the first time that Fred Oware has supported the mfantseman campaign, he has brought many other things during previous elections and our hope is that he will continue to support he constituency. We will not disappoint him. We will work hard to retain MP Ophelia Mansa Hayford and ensure Dr.Bawumia gets very high results,” he said.
The NPP excutives urged supporters to drum home the good works of the party.

“The party at the headquarters together with the MP thought about how to resource the grassroots in its work to retain the seat and we decided to come in and support your good works. The party knows the work on election day, collation of pink sheets from polling stations to collation centers and the motorcycles will help a lot in helping move people to areas where they need to be,” Fred Oware said.
In the parliamentary elections in the 2020 polls, the NPP’s Ophelia Mansa Hayford polled 36,021 votes representing 51.9 percent of the votes to beat his closest contender, James Essuon of the NDC who managed 32,438 votes representing 45.6 percent of the votes. The Ghana Union Movement candidate Alijata Ibrahim managed 911 representing 1.3 percent of total votes cast.
In the presidential elections, outgoing president Nana Akufo-Addo garnered 26,747 representing 50.69 percent to defeat John Mahama of the NDC who polled 26,021 representing 49.31 percent of votes.
