The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced that its National Chairman, Stephen Ayensu Ntim, has taken a short break from the ongoing nationwide “Thank You” tour to attend to some pressing matters.
The party’s Director of Communications, Richard Ahiagbah noted in a statement that the National Chairman remains fully committed to the tour and will rejoin the team in due course.
The main opposition NPP’s Thank You Tour headlined by its 2024 presidential candidate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has been marred by several controversies.
Ahiagbah in the statement expressed gratitude to the party supporters for the continued support and enthusiasm of its members, acknowledging their “unwavering commitment and cooperation.”
“The Party appreciates all members’ continued support, enthusiasm, unwavering commitment, and cooperation,” he stated.
The NPP’s “Thank You” tour aims to express gratitude to its supporters and stakeholders for the support during the 2024 general elections.
The break is expected to be temporary, with the National Chairman rejoining the tour soon.
Meanwhile, former Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, has also withdrawn from the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) ongoing “Thank You” tour.
Speaking to Moro Awudu on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana on Wednesday morning, the maverick politician cited security concerns for his supporters.
A violent confrontation erupted at an event at the Pentecost Church in Bantama, Kumasi, involving a performance group from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
The clash between the group and suspected NPP supporters resulted in one person being stabbed.
The injured student believed to be affiliated with Kennedy Agyapong and a member of Unity Hall’s Jama group, is undergoing treatment at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
