NPP presidential primaries reflect grassroots will – Titus Glover

Former Greater Accra Regional Minister, Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus Glover has congratulated all candidates who contested in the New Patriotic Party’s presidential primaries, describing the outcome as a predictable reflection of the party’s grassroots sentiment.

Speaking on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana program on February 5, 2026, Glover praised the vibrancy of the internal contest, but emphasized that the results were consistent with what party supporters had anticipated.

“Congratulations to all aspirants, but I am not surprised,” he said. “This was the will of the NPP delegates. They have spoken clearly, rewarding experience, unity, and a proven track record of delivery. Our party remains stronger for it.”

The NPP primaries, held on January 31, saw Dr Mahamudu Bawumia emerge as the party’s presidential candidate for the upcoming general elections.

Glover described Bawumia’s campaign as one that resonated strongly with the NPP’s core values, particularly on issues such as economic recovery and job creation.

He also commended the losing aspirants for their spirited campaigns, saying their contributions had strengthened the party’s platform.

“Every contender brought fire from policy ideas to mobilization. They have all made us better,” he noted.

Glover urged party members to remain united, warning that internal divisions could weaken their chances against the ruling National Democratic Congress.

“Our focus now is forward, presenting a united front with solutions for Ghanaians. The primaries were competitive, but the real contest is ahead,” he added.
