NPP risks losing touch with voters if messaging doesn’t change – Kwesi Pratt Jnr.

Veteran journalist and media commentator Kwesi Pratt Jnr., has called on the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to overhaul its communication strategy, warning that the party’s current approach risks alienating ordinary Ghanaians.

Speaking on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana on Wednesday, February 18, Mr Pratt criticised the NPP’s messaging as outdated and disconnected.

“The NPP should rethink their communication ways,” he told Moro Awudu, stressing the need for more transparent, engaging, and relatable messaging in an age dominated by social media.

Mr Pratt emphasized recent public gaffes and what he described as an air of arrogance in the party’s engagements as signs of deeper problems.

“The days of lecturing the public are over,” he said. “They must listen, adapt, and speak the language of the people, not just their elite base.”

Drawing on his experience observing opposition tactics during the NPP’s time out of government, Mr Pratt suggested that the ruling party could learn valuable lessons to maintain relevance ahead of future elections.

His remarks come amid rising scrutiny of the NPP’s handling of pressing issues such as galamsey, inflation, and youth unemployment.
