NPP’s Eric Amoako Twum endorses NAPO as Bawumia’s running mate

Government Spokesperson Eric Amoako Twu, has publicly endorsed Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, the Energy Minister, as the ideal running mate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Speaking on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana, Twum emphasized that Dr. Opoku Prempeh, popularly known as NAPO’s competence and qualifications make him the perfect fit for the position.

He explained that the vice president’s role requires trust and relationship, somebody who understands the president’s language, vision and is able to complement him.

His endorsement comes after NPP’s flagbearer, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, officially submitted Dr. Prempeh’s name as his preferred running mate for the 2024 elections.

Dr. Bawumia presented Dr. Prempeh to the National Executives of the party on Monday, July 1, 2024, at the party’s headquarters in Accra.

Twum urged fellow NPP members to rally behind the decision and unite for the upcoming elections.

“Everyone has to rally behind that decision, and then we go out there and execute a campaign,” he said.

With this endorsement, it’s clear that the NPP is gearing up for a strong campaign in the 2024 elections.
