NPP’s management of the economy is a failure – Kwakye Ofosu

Former Deputy Communications Minister, Felix Kwakye Ofosu has described the government under the New Patriotic Party as a “spectacular failure.”

Commenting on the 2023 Mid-Year Budget Review delivered by the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta, in Parliament on July 31, Felix Kwakye Ofosu ripped the government apart on its handling of the economy.

“NPP has been a spectacular failure in the management of the economy,” he stated on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana on Metro TV on Tuesday, August 1, 2023.

He said this assertion is “based purely on fact, not conjecture or gut feeling. It is what actually exists on paper and on the ground.”

Kwakye Ofosu further brushed off the defence mounted by the Technical Advisor to the Office of the Vice President, Dr. Tiah Abdul-Kabiru Mahama about the 2023 Mid-Year Budget Review.

The Deputy Communication Minister under the erstwhile Mahama-led administration asserted that “You cannot access the NPP’s performance on the economy without pitching the outcomes against what they promised.”

He stated that such gargantuan promises the then-opposition NPP made convinced Ghanaians to vote in their favor.

He went on to highlight some promises contained in the manifesto that won the NPP power, stating that the reality is in sharp contrast to what the government promised especially in the area of economy.
