The Nsawam Traditional Council, led by the Chief Nana Kwabena Ansah, has spearheaded a collaborative clean-up exercise involving various institutions, traders, and locals within the municipality. The initiative aims to promote environmental cleanliness and improve public health.
The clean-up exercise brought together traditional leaders, the Municipal Environmental Health Directorate, Zoomlion, religious organizations, traders, and locals in a concerted effort to maintain a clean environment.
Speaking with the media, Nana Kwabena Ansah urged citizens to be law-abiding and ensure proper sanitation practices. He emphasized that anyone who breaches sanitation laws will be dealt with accordingly.
Municipal Environmental Health Officer, Joseph Krampa, noted that the exercise is part of measures to prevent any cholera outbreak. “This initiative is crucial in averting potential health crises,” he stated.
Chairman of the Local Council of Churches in the Nsawam municipality, Apostle Patrick Kogbe, advised churches to provide bins to help keep the environment clean. “Churches should take responsibility and ensure proper waste management,” he added.
Vice Chairman for the GPRTU Nsawam branch, on his part, stated that the association will form a task force with Zoomlion to ensure proper sanitation practices at various stations. “We are committed to maintaining cleanliness at our stations,” he affirmed.
