Ntim Fordjour Calls for Transparency in Cocaine Scandal Amidst National Security Concerns

The Member of Parliament for Assin South, Rev. Ntim Fordjour firmly addressed the growing concerns surrounding a cocaine scandal that has cast a shadow over Ghana’s national security.

Fordjour expressed his frustration on Adwenekasa on Original TV, with the handling of the situation and cautioned against politicizing the issue.

“Let me be clear: no one can summon or intimidate me over this press conference. If I may ask, was I the one who brought the cocaine?” he asserted, emphasizing his stance on the matter. The MP called on the public and political figures alike to recognize that the implications of such disgraceful incidents affect all Ghanaians.

Fordjour highlighted the recent cocaine imports linked to the Takoradi Harbour, mentioning the involvement of politicians. He raised a crucial question: “Why are we not hearing anything more about this issue?” His comments suggest a deep-seated concern over the possible complicity of influential figures in the ongoing drug trade, which continues to pose a serious threat to the nation’s integrity.

He further stated that the President is aware of these issues and has claimed that the recent bust represents a high-profile case. “So we are asking, which individuals have their hands in this?” Fordjour questioned, emphasizing the need for accountability.

The MP did not shy away from mentioning a previous money laundering scandal that surfaced two months ago, which quickly faded from the headlines after being linked to an individual known as one Alhaji. “We don’t know when this illicit trade entered our country, or if it poses a risk of aiding terrorists,” he warned, expressing dismay at the lack of follow-up on such critical matters.

Fordjour also referenced an unexpected shipment containing ambulances imported from “Grand Finalia Island,” raising alarms about potential threats to national security that have gone unacknowledged.

In conclusion, as insecurity looms over the nation, Fordjour urged security agencies to provide citizens with updates on their safety, calling for transparency and vigilance in addressing these pressing issues.
