Okada rider disappears with over GH₵ 2,000 after delivery

An okada rider stationed at Tudu has gone into hiding after allegedly making away with over GH₵ entrusted to him by a client for a delivery and purchase of goods.

The rider, identified as Alex Kwaku Dokurugu, was engaged by a client to deliver items valued at more than GH₵2,000 to a customer.

According to the client, Dokurugu was instructed to collect payment for the items and use part of the money to buy additional goods, after which he was expected to return a balance of GH₵1,370.

Dokurugu successfully delivered the items and collected the payment from the customer, but failed to return with either the change or the additional items.

All efforts to reach him afterward proved unsuccessful.

Sources say the rider has since gone into hiding, raising concerns about the growing cases of breach of trust involving commercial motor riders.

The client is said to be considering reporting the matter to the police as attempts to locate Dokurugu have so far failed.
