The National Motor (Okada) Riders Union has congratulated President-Elect John Dramani Mahama on his victory, praising his commitment to their union and expressing hope for the legalization of their operations.
In a press statement, the union described Mahama’s success as “well-deserved” and an inspiration, citing his hard work and perseverance.
“We are also grateful for your commitment and dedication to our union,” the statement read.
“We pray that may God protect you and give you wisdom as we hope on legalization and promises made by you to our union.”
The National Motor Riders Union’s congratulatory message to President-Elect John Dramani Mahama comes as expected, considering his earlier commitments to formalize the okada industry.
Mahama had promised to legalize and regulate commercial motorbike operations, ensuring riders’ safety and security while contributing to job creation.
Additionally, the Okada Riders Association of Ghana has expressed appreciation for Mahama’s plan to establish an electric motorbike assembly plant in the country, a move aimed at promoting sustainable transportation and economic growth
The union’s statement concluded with a message of optimism, stating, “We believe that your Government will regularize our work as we look forward to the future. We thank you for your great concern.”
