The Okyenhene, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin, has called for increased global attention to the plight of vulnerable populations, particularly in Africa, emphasizing the critical need for food and shelter.
Okyenhene’s call came during a visit by the Ukrainian Ambassador to Ghana, His Excellency Ivan Lukachuk, to Kyebi.
Ambassador Lukachuk, with support from partners generously donated 500 boxes of packaged food items to the aged group of the community.
He noted the devastating impact of poverty and expressed hope that nations like Ukraine would extend support to ensure a life of comfort for those in need.
According to Okyenhene, poverty is killing most people in Africa, and thus , it is imperative that the world focuses on supporting the vulnerable in society to alleviate the same.
Okyenhene expressed his gratitude to the Ukrainian Ambassador and the Macdan Foundation for their timely gesture.
Ivan Lukachuk acknowledged the severe challenges faced by many African countries due to food and shelter shortages.
He pledged that the Ukrainian government would make every effort to provide assistance.
He further explained that his visit was a testament to the long-standing and valued relationship between himself and the Okyenhene.
