His Royal Majesty, Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin, the Okyenhene has expressed great worry on the sudden surge in illegal politicized mining activities ongoing across gold deposit communities in the country with rampant use of deadly chemicals and polution of water bodies.
The Okyenhene was speaking at a durbar organized in his honor by the Oseawuo Division of the Okyem Abuakwa Traditional State as part of his divisional tour ahead of his 20th anniversary celebration.
Touching on development, Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin lamented about the indiscriminate illegal mining activities influenced by political games and destroying water bodies, leaving the communities in merse.
He called for responsible operations to salvage the nation from future menace.
Osagyefuo, however, tasked chiefs in Akyem Abuakwa to help rebuild and facelift their communities peacefully and end chieftancy disputes.
Also, Okyenhene used the opportunity to handover two (2) of this ten (10) model schools at Akyem Achiase and Wenchi respectfully to the communities to enhance quality education in the land.
On his part, the Oseawuo Divisional Chief of Akyem Abuakwa Traditional State, Daasebre Dr.Asumadu Appiah, thanked Okyenhene for his exceptional leadership and development in the area and pledged his commitment to serve the great division to his satisfaction.
