A tragic accident involving a vehicle in President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s convoy has resulted in the death of one person and injured several others.
The incident occurred at Bunso Junction in the Eastern Region on Sunday, May 19.
According to eyewitnesses, a truck suddenly crossed the convoy’s path, causing the crash. The president was not in the convoy at the time of the accident, having attended a funeral in Kumasi over the weekend.
Videos circulating on social media show the mangled remains of a Toyota Land Cruiser vehicle on the side of the road, with security personnel and emergency services present at the scene.
The deceased has not been named, and the injured are receiving medical attention. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
The presidency is yet to comment on the matter.
