One killed in building collapse at Tuba

One person has died and another critically injured following the partial collapse of a three storey building under construction at Tuba in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.

According to eyewitness, Emmanuel Ansoh, a portion of the building situated at Aglow Farms, a suburb of Tuba, collapsed on Thursday morning while three construction workers were on site.

 

 

Two out of the three carpenters who were laying wood ahead of the roofing fell victim to the disaster.

One of them who had much of the debris falling on him died instantly, while another one suffered severe head injury.

It took the intervention of personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service and the Weija Divisional Police Command to retrieve the body of the deceased which was covered by debris of the collapsed building.

Police have arrested one person believed to be the project cordinator of the site to assist in investigations and have also marked the premises as a no go zone.
