Ongoing rehabilitation works restore hope on Salaga-Kpandai Road

Rehabilitation works are currently underway on the Salaga–Kpandai road, which became impassable following recent heavy rains that washed away portions of the stretch and left commuters stranded for several days.

In a swift response to the situation, the Member of Parliament for Salaga South, Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, in collaboration with the Ministry of Roads and Highways, has initiated emergency rehabilitation works to restore access. Discussions are also ongoing to ensure the main contractor returns to the site soon to resume full-scale reconstruction of the road.

As part of monitoring and follow-up efforts, the NDC Constituency Chairman, Mr. Haruna Abdul Aziz, together with the Director of Special Projects, Mr. Mustapha Nafiu, visited the site to assess progress. According to the site foreman, the ongoing repairs are expected to be completed within the next three days, bringing much-needed relief to commuters and residents.

During the visit, the constituency team engaged with residents along the affected stretch, updating them on the MP’s intervention and the measures being taken to ensure a long-term solution.

Residents expressed gratitude to Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah for her timely action and appealed to the government to expedite efforts in bringing the main contractor back to complete the project, which remains a vital link for transportation and economic activities in the area.
