Otto Addo Remains Black Stars Head Coach – Dr. Randy Abbey Confirms

The Chairman of the Black Stars Management Committee, Dr. Randy Abbey, has reaffirmed that Otto Addo remains the head coach of Ghana’s senior national football team, dismissing recent rumours and speculation about possible changes in the technical setup.

Speaking exclusively on Original TV/FM’s Sports Program, Dr. Abbey clarified that Coach Otto Addo’s position remains unchanged, and he continues to lead the Black Stars’ technical team as preparations intensify for upcoming international assignments.

“Otto Addo is still the head coach of the Black Stars. His status remains unchanged,” Dr. Abbey stated firmly.

He emphasized that the Management Committee, together with the Ghana Football Association (GFA), continues to offer full support to Addo’s leadership and long-term vision for the national team.

Dr. Abbey also expressed appreciation to the Original Sports Team for their continued coverage and encouragement, acknowledging the media’s role in promoting unity and positivity around the Black Stars.

“As management, we took the opportunity to congratulate Coach Otto Addo for his leadership and to thank everyone who has supported the team — from management and technical staff to the fans and the media,” he added.

Otto Addo, who was reappointed as head coach earlier, has been focused on building a strong and competitive squad as Ghana targets qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and other major tournaments.

Dr. Abbey’s clarification comes amid ongoing public debate about the team’s form and performance, stressing that continuity, stability, and unity are essential to achieving long-term success for the Black Stars.
