‘Our destiny is in our own hands, let’s act decisively’ – President Mahama tells African leaders

In a compelling address at the Third African Prosperity Dialogue in Accra, President John Dramani Mahama called for bold and immediate action to realize Africa’s potential.

Speaking to an audience of heads of state, policymakers, and business leaders, Mahama framed Africa’s future as a collective responsibility that requires leadership and strategic decision-making today.

“Africa’s destiny is in our own hands,” Prez. Mahama declared, emphasizing that the continent’s immense natural wealth, dynamic population, and technological advancements are significant assets—but only if harnessed effectively.

He pointed out that Africa stands at a crossroads, and the choices made now will shape the future of its people.

However, he stressed that achieving prosperity isn’t just about having resources, but about making the right choices through decisive leadership.

“Our continent, Africa, is at a crossroads. On one hand, we boast immense natural wealth, a youthful and dynamic population, and growing technological advancement. On the other hand, we continue to grapple with economic disparities, infrastructure deficits, and structural barriers,” he said, urging immediate action to overcome these challenges.
