Over 8,000 registered in Kasoa limited voters registration exercise

The limited voters registration exercise in Kasoa has been generally calm, with 8,066 applicants successfully registered as voters, according to the Awutu Senya East Directorate of the Electoral Commission.

The 21-day exercise was marked by a smooth process, with no records of altercations between political actors. However, 85 applicants had their registrations challenged, and their cases are currently being reviewed by the Dispute Resolution Committee.

Dominic Agbanu, the Awutu Senya East Municipal Electoral Officer, attributed the peaceful nature of the exercise to strong collaboration between the EC and political parties.

Political party leaders have expressed satisfaction with the process, pledging to conduct themselves in a manner that will not cause chaos, especially when the voter transfer and proxy processes follow immediately after the limited registration.

The Kasoa MP, Mavis Hawa Koomson, and the Kasoa NDC Deputy Organizer, Seth Bismark Bonful, were among the political leaders who commended the EC for a successful exercise.
