PANAFEST & Emancipation 2025: A celebration of reparative justice and Pan-African solidarity

The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has announced the dates for the highly anticipated PANAFEST & Emancipation 2025 celebration, scheduled to take place from July 17th to August 2nd, 2025.

This year’s edition will be held under the theme “Let Us Speak of Reparative Justice – Pan-African Artistic Activism.”

A statement signed by the Head of Corporate Affairs at the Ghana Tourism Authority, Bright Asempa Tsadidey, noted that the two-week celebration will span multiple regions and sacred heritage sites across Ghana, bringing together Africans and the diaspora for a powerful journey of remembrance, reconnection, and renewal.

The event aims to promote unity, healing, and Pan-African solidarity through a diverse range of activities.

Activities lined up to celebrate this year’s event include cultural exhibitions, academic colloquia, wellness sessions, sacred rituals, and vibrant performances that blend tradition and creativity. Key events will feature emotional atonement ceremonies in Salaga and Assin Praso, as well as deep spiritual encounters at Elmina and Cape Coast.

PANAFEST & Emancipation 2025 promises to be a significant celebration of African heritage and a call to action for reparative justice and Pan-African unity.
