Parliament to resume sitting on October 21

Parliament will reconvene on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, for the start of the Third Meeting of the First Session of the Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic.

This was announced by the Speaker of Parliament, Rt Hon Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, in an official notice issued on Wednesday, October 8, 2025. The notice follows an earlier decision to defer the opening of the meeting, which had been scheduled earlier this month.

According to the Speaker, the new sitting will begin at 2:00 p.m. at Parliament House in Accra. The reconvening marks the continuation of parliamentary business after the deferment announced on October 6.

The Speaker issued the notice in accordance with Order 58 of the Standing Orders of Parliament, which empowers him to determine and communicate changes to the parliamentary calendar.

Members of Parliament are expected to resume to consider key national matters, including bills, reports, and government business that remain pending from the previous sitting.

The statement was signed by the Speaker and dated October 8, 2025.
