Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has urged Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin to take charge and resolve the current stalemate in Parliament, emphasizing that the solution lies within Bagbin’s domain.
Kufuor stressed that Bagbin must mediate in the controversy and ensure peace returns to the House, as government business will suffer if the impasse persists.
In an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen Show, Kufuor appealed to Bagbin to unite the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and National Democratic Congress (NDC) caucuses for Ghana’s development and the electorates’ best interests.
The former president’s call comes after Speaker Bagbin adjourned Parliament indefinitely due to the NPP MPs’ absence, which prevented the House from proceeding with its business.
Bagbin expressed disappointment, citing the absence of NPP members and lack of business before the House.
