PassionAir Blames Weather For Flight Turbulence, Apologizes To Passengers

Domestic carrier PassionAir has attributed the mid-air turbulence experienced on Flight OP 149 from Kumasi to Accra on Saturday, June 14, to ongoing seasonal weather changes.

The airline has assured passengers of its continued commitment to the highest safety and operational standards.

In a press release issued on Sunday, June 15, PassionAir confirmed that the flight encountered “moderate turbulence,” causing discomfort to some passengers.

“We sincerely apologise to all affected passengers for the inconvenience caused,” the statement read.

The airline emphasized that the safety of passengers and crew remains paramount, adding that it is working closely with the Ghana Meteorological Agency and aviation authorities to monitor weather conditions in real time.

“While we expect mostly slight to moderate weather disruptions, rare instances of severe conditions may occur,” PassionAir stated. “The safety and comfort of our passengers and crew remain our highest priority.”

The airline also cautioned that flights to and from regional cities—Kumasi, Takoradi, Tamale, Sunyani, and Wa—may continue to experience occasional disruptions due to changing weather patterns.

Passengers are encouraged to stay informed through official airline communications and prepare for potential delays or schedule adjustments as the season progresses.
