PHR CENTRE FACILITATES SCHOLARSHIP FOR BRILLIANT BUT NEEDY STUDENT WITH SUPPORT FROM GNPC FOUNDATION

Potters Hand Resource Centre (PHRC), has facilitated and awarded a full scholarship to a brilliant but needy student, Osman Zulquarnain to pursue his degree in Medicine at University of Ghana (Accra). Potters Hand Resource Centre (PHRC), facilitates and collaborated with the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) to make this a reality.

Osman Zulquarnain graduated from Mfantsipim Senior High School with grade 8As. Due to extreme financial challenges Osman faced after senior high school, he resorted to picking up menial jobs and decided to become a mechanic since all hope was lost and help was coming from nowhere. After an encounter with Potters Hand Resource Centre, Osman has received a scholarship, worth 60,000 cedis which will cover Tuition Fees, Accommodation, and Living Expenses for the next 6 years.

CEO of PHR Centre, Dr. Fidel Owusu Agyei narrated how a Facebook post with a caption ‘Genius with 8As Turned Mechanic Needs Support for Tertiary Education’ caught his attention and decided to follow up on the story until he got hold of Osman and asked him to come to Accra with the needed documents and prove of Results… and that’s how the story of Osman changed.

Dr. Fidel who is also an educationist stated that, the Resource Centre is committed to supporting students with the needed and right education they deserve without hustle.

In an interview with Osman, a man of few words, expressed his excitement with joy and appreciation. This on the other hand has increased his faith in Allah. He also believes ‘everything is possible if you believe in Allah.

Dr. Fidel therefore debunked rumors that scholarships are only awarded to high profile individuals in the country.
