PINK LADIES CUP: Doris Boaduwaa Brace Powers Black Queens Past Russia

Ghana extended their impressive form at the 2026 Pink Ladies Cup with a dominant 4-0 victory on Tuesday, March 3.

Doris Boaduwaa was the star of the show, netting twice as the Black Queens secured their second straight win of the tournament.

Head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren made several changes to his starting lineup, handing starts to Alice Kusi, Grace Asantewaa, Stella Nyamekye and Josephine Bonsu — and the impact was immediate.

Just eight minutes in, Boaduwaa turned provider, setting up Stella Nyamekye to open the scoring. Nine minutes later, Boaduwaa doubled Ghana’s lead with a superb volley after Josephine Bonsu’s header fell kindly into her path.

A penalty appeal for a foul on Alice Kusi in the 30th minute was waved away, but Ghana remained in control. Three minutes later, Boaduwaa struck again, finishing off a swift counterattack with a low drive to make it 3-0 before the break.

Goalkeeper Cynthia Konlan produced a fine save in the 59th minute to deny Russia any hope of a comeback. Ajegipina later hit the post from close range, while Russia had a late goal ruled out for offside.

Sharon Sampson made her Black Queens debut before Ajegipina sealed the emphatic win with Ghana’s fourth goal.

The result makes it two wins from two for the Black Queens, with eight goals scored in the tournament so far.
