Police have arrested a man suspected to be a mechanic after he crashed a stolen vehicle while attempting to flee along the Suhum Nsawam Road.
The suspect was apprehended moments after losing control of a Toyota Voxy with registration number GX 1297-25, which crashed during what police believe was a high speed escape.
According to preliminary information, the vehicle had earlier been reported stolen. The suspect allegedly took the car and drove off at top speed, drawing attention from road users before the crash brought the journey to an abrupt end.
No fatalities were reported, though the vehicle sustained damage. The suspect was immediately taken into custody and is assisting police with investigations.
