Police arrest three after video shows toddler given alcohol at Kade

Police have arrested three people after a viral video showed a two-year-old child being given an alcoholic drink at Kade in the Eastern Region.

The Ghana Police Service said the arrests followed public outrage over the footage, which circulated widely on social media and raised serious concerns about child abuse and neglect.

Those arrested are Precious alias “T Moni”, 18, Emmanuel Dadzie, also known as “Sha Shipper”, 24, and Stephen Amoko, 22, who police say is the father of the child. The arrests were carried out on Saturday, December 20, 2025, by officers from the Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team at Okuman, a suburb of Kade.

According to police, the suspects are believed to have been involved in the incident captured in the video, which showed the toddler being fed an alcoholic beverage. The child has since been rescued and handed over to the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit and the Asamankese Children’s Welfare Office for protection, while investigations continue with the child’s mother.

All three suspects are currently in police custody and are expected to be put before court. Police say efforts are ongoing to track down two other suspects, identified as Affram Bright alias Mogabe and Panyin, who are said to be on the run.

The Ghana Police Service said it remains committed to protecting children and ensuring that those who endanger their safety are held accountable.
